Opportunities for Board Members

Youth Leadership Council (YLC)

AYSC Board Members have the opportunity to sign up for this inclusive leadership development program at Rice University, Houston, Texas. Only 6 board members will be selected to attend. All thanks to our partnering organization Chinese American Citizen Alliance (CACA) and Oakland Police Foundation for sponsoring all the expenses including plane tickets and admission fees, and making this wonderful weekend trip possible for our Board Members!

For more information about this program (YLC), visit their main website at http://www.ylc.net/

Asian American Prosecutor Association(AAPA) Banquet

It is a pleasure for AYSC to have the district attorneys from Alameda County District Attorneys to come and give professional development workshop. We are also glad that we can offer our help to them for any of their events. Every year, AAPA invite AYSC to join them for their Banquet. Not only that we can enjoy a free meal, but we can also learn more their organization. As Board Members, we will present ourselves professionally in formal clothing as a respect.

AYSC New Board Orientation

When the new board has been finalized after the election, the elected board members must attend the orientation to learn all the duties of being a board member and the position they were elected for. The old board members will greet the new board members and interact with them. Not only will new board members learn about the history of AYSC, but also to understand more about the purpose and importance of community services.

Wa Sung Community Service Club Crab Feed

Wa Sung has always been great to AYSC. Not only that they have offered us scholarships and other opportunities, but they have also financially helped us a lot. It will be our pleasure to be invited to help out and volunteer at their Crab Feed Event by serving crabs or selling raffle tickets. We get treated to a delicious meal and have the opportunity to fundraise for AYSC.

Alone, you make decisions; together, we make changes.
